Cannes day 7: Sonam Kapoor and Mahira Khan bond, Dhanush brings Fakir magic
On day seven of the ongoing Cannes Film Festival, Sonam Kapoor and Mahira Khan exchanged warm words ahead of their red carpet appearances, while Dhanush attended the premiere of his maiden Hollywood film, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir.
Bollywood actor Sonam Kapoor and Pakistani star Mahira Khan shared a warm moment ahead of their respective appearances on the red carpet, where walked as ambassadors of cosmetics brand, L’Oreal. But before they glammed it up for the shutterbugs, they posed for a quick picture that was widely shared online. In the picture, Sonam can be seen kissing Mahira on her forehead.
Sonam walked the red carpet for the premiere of Spike Lee’s new film, BlacKkKlansman, dressed in a Ralph and Russo lehenga. Meanwhile, Mahira turned heads in a black, figure-hugging off-shoulder gown.
“Can’t wait to hang out with you at Cannes,” Sonam had earlier tweeted to Mahira, who has made her debut at the festival in its 71st edition.
Before Sonam, Indian actors such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Mallika Sherawat and Kangana Ranaut had walked on the red carpet, representing various brands.
A day after Nawazuddin Siddiqui premiered his new film, Manto, to positive reviews, actor Dhanush walked the red carpet for The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, the actor’s first international project, which also stars Berenice Bejo and Barkhad Abdi in supporting roles.
The actor also posted a photograph of himself along with the film’s director Ken Scott. In the image, Dhanush is seen in a crisp white shirt paired with a black suit and bow tie. He is also seen sporting a handlebar moustache.
