BJP minister gets two frogs married to please gods of rain in Madhya Pradesh

Chhatarpur: Madhya Pradesh minister of state for woman and child development Lalita Yadav reportedly organised a wedding of two frogs at a temple in Chhatarpur for rains. The wedding was organised as part of a ritual held to ‘please rain gods’.
“We have prayed to god for rain in drought hit Bundelkhand region and for the welfare of our farmers,” the BJP minister said.
According to media reports, the minister along with other local BJP leaders had organised an Ashad Utsav during which a priest solemnised the marriage of frogs, which was followed by a grand feast. Hundreds had gathered at the venue to see this unique marriage.
The minister defended her stance by saying the marriage was a logical tradition which was necessary to balance the environment.
“As environment is not happy with Bundelkhand, we are trying to please the god to make the balance in the environment. In old days, our forefathers used to organise religious rituals at temple to please the god,” she said.
