Mumbai: Excitement had already been building up in the past few days leading up to the engagement ceremony of Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta. After their mehendi ceremony and a pre-wedding bash earlier this week, Akash Ambani, the eldest son of industrialist Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, formally exchanged rings with Shloka Mehta, daughter of diamond magnate Russell Mehta, on Saturday night.
The Ambanis hosted a grand engagement party for the couple at their 27-storey palatial Mumbai residence – Antilia. And, the presence of who’s who of the entertainment, sports and political world added to its grandeur.
The impressive line-up of celebrities who attended the party included Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shahid Kapoor with wife Mira Kapoor, Kajol Devgan, Karan Johar, Kiran Rao, Zaheer Khan, Sagarika Ghatge, Vidya Balan, Aamir Khan with wife Kiran Rao and many others.
Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta got hitched in an intimate ceremony on May 24 in Goa and later celebrated it with friends at their Mumbai residence.
Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta will reportedly get married in the month of December this year. The wedding is touted to be an extravagant affair with many big names from across the nation expected to attend.
