Bhuvneshwar Kumar Declared Fit, To Play in India A Quadrangular Series

India fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar will make a comeback to competitive cricket after he was declared fit on Monday. Kumar will play in the ongoing India A quadrangular series.

The 28-year-old last played for India in the third ODI against England and had aggravated his lower-back injury then. He returned with figures of 0/49 in his seven overs in the match.

Kumar was initially ruled out of the first three Tests after the ODI series. It was learnt that he would undergo a rehab at the NCA in Bengaluru.

But the pacer needed additional two weeks to recover fully, which ended his hopes of playing in the last two Tests of the series as well.

It was due to the same back issue that Kumar could not appear in the Nidahas Trophy and one-off Test against Afghanistan.

The Indian team has also missed out on the services of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who was out due to a thumb injury. But the seamer got fit in time for the third Test at Trent Bridge and picked up a fifer in the match.
