Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Afghanistan stars console heartbroken young Indian fan
ndia’s final Super Four match against Afghanistan was probably the most exciting ODI played in the Asia Cup 2018 till now but it was a young fan who stole the limelight after he was seen weeping following the result.
The game got over with Rashid Khan dismissing Ravindra Jadeja off the penultimate ball as India got bowled out for 252, the same score Afghanistan had made batting first in an inconsequential match in Dubai.
As Afghanistan players started celebrating, cameras turned towards the stands to capture the reactions of the fans. Among them was a little kid wearing the Indian jersey, who couldn’t hold back his tears even as his father tried his best to console him.

India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh even tweeted a picture of the crying child and offered support by saying, “Koi na putt Rona Nahi hai final aapa jittange (Don’t cry child, we will win the final).”
The kid’s father, identified as Amarpreet Singh, replied to Bhajji’s tweet thanking the cricketer for his support. Amarpreet also revealed in his tweet that India fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave him a call and spoke with his son Arjan.

Khaleel Ahmed edged the ball and almost got himself hit-wicket but managed to sneak a single to get Jadeja back on strike. With a run needed off two deliveries, Rashid bowled a short ball and Jadeja mistimed the shot to send the ball straight into the hands of the only fielder in the deep. And the match ended in a tie.
India will now face Bangladesh in the final on Friday (28 September) after the latter crushed Pakistan by 37 runs in the final Super Four match on Wednesday.
