Market Fatafat: Sensex rangebound ahead of Infy, TCS earnings; check out 24 stocks in news today
New Delhi: The BSE Sensex and Nifty traded in a tight range on Friday ahead of Q4 announcement from IT bellwethers TCS and Infosys. Meanwhile, investors also remained cautious ahead of the release of retail inflation data for the month of March.
As of 2 pm, Sensex traded 81.20 points or 0.21% higher at 38,688.21 and the Nifty50 index was up by 22.25 points at 11,619. Gail was the top gainer in Nifty, up 3.28% followed by ITC, Maruti Suzuki and Cipla, which gained between 1.7-2.6%. Meanwhile, IOC was the top loser in Nifty, down 1.74% followed by Bharti Airtel and Indiabulls Housing Finance.
Jet Airways: the airline has cancelled all international flights for two days due to lack of resources. According to reports Etihad plans to raise stake in the beleaguered airline to 49% from 24% now.
Wipro: The entire IT pack looks attractive. Buy Wipro at current prices for a target of Rs 298 and stop loss at Rs 275.
TCS: The company reports its Q4 today. The IT major is expected to post constant currency revenue growth of 2.1% in dollar terms. Its net profit is seen declining by 1.5% on a sequential basis due to lower margins and forex hit.
DHFL: According to sources US PE firm Lone Star is currently doing due diligence for DHFL. Meanwhile, Brickwork downgrades DHFL’s NCDs.
Kajaria Ceramic: Nirmal Bang Securities has a positive view on the stock as it is making higher-tops and higher-bottoms. The brokerage advises holding long positions in the stock for a target of Rs 640-Rs 650 with stop loss at Rs 600.
Infosys: The Bengaluru-based outsourcer is likely to report 2.1% sequential growth in revenue in constant currency terms. There could be some pressure on the EBIT front. The company may cut EBIT guidance.
