Power transmission network building gets push after CM’s prodding
Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Company on Thursday kick-started the work for construction of a 132/33 kv EHT substations-II at Siltara.
The substation being built at a cost of Rs. 23.82 crore will benefit all the nearby industrial units.
The power company has expedited the construction work on all the suspended projects to strengthen and expand the transmission network both in rural and urban areas following a directive from the Chief Minister.
Immediately after taking charge Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel instructed the power company to complete all the transmission projects within a time frame.
Chairman of all Chhattisgarh state-owned power companies Shailendra Shukla said 36 numbers of transmission networks have been indentified for completion in coming years. It will cost Rs. 1000 crore.
The 132/33 KV substations, construction work of which started on the pious day of Rath yatra, is part of that transmission network.
On completion of this substations all the nearby industrial units will get relief from voltage problem and smooth supply can also be ensured, the company said in a press release.
Apart from this new 132 K.V. line construction, Siltara – Jagdamba and Siltara – S.K.S. LILO costing Rs. 9 crore will also be constructed. Attending the site worshipping programme M.D. Transmission Tripti Sinha said that Siltara already has 220/132/33 K.V. substations functional. “But keeping in view the additional demand by the existing units and for new units which are to come in near future, this new sub-station is very much needed,” she said.
