Caste certificate issuance procedure will be simplified: CM
To simplify the process of caste certificate issuance, a five-member committee has been constituted that will study caste certificate issuance process for scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and OBCs in various states.
The committee will visit Jharkhand and Odisha to study the caste certificate issuance process there.
This decision was taken in the meeting of state-level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee chaired by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhavan).
In the meeting, cases filed under Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities Act) were reviewed, according to a government communiqué.
The committee constituted for simplification of the caste certificate issuance process will be headed by former minister and MLA Rampukar Singh. Besides, Nankiram Kanwar, Punnulal Mohile, Bhuvaneshwar Baghel, Manoj Mandawi along with secretary and director of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe Department will be the members of the committee.
Chief Minister said that this committee will visit various states of the country and collect the relevant information from government officials and local community there. He gave instructions to the committee to submit report in three months.
Chief Minister has given instructions to expedite the process of caste certificate verification and to take strict immediate action against people, who are working in government services on the basis of fake caste certificates.
Baghel also gave instructions to ensure speedy redressal of cases filed under Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Chief Minister said that efforts should be made to stay vacate the cases, which have been put on stay by the court.
Chief Minister said that the pending payment of incentives to the beneficiaries of Antarjaatiy Vivaah Protsahan Puruskar Vivah Protsahan Yojana should be cleared as soon as possible.
Baghel also directed principal secretary of Law Department to review the works of public prosecutors in the courts under Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The meeting was attended by Tribal Caste Development Minister Premsai Singh, Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Women and Child Development Minister Anila Bhendiya, Industry Minister Kawasi Lakhma, Food Minister Amarjeet Singh Bhagat among others.
