Ayushmann Khurrana is no birthday person, says he gets ‘depressed’ on his special day
The next two days are extremely special for Ayushmann Khurrana. While September 13 will mark the release of his upcoming film Dream Girl, he will turn 35 on September 14. The actor, along with his co-star Nushrat Bharucha, was recently in New Delhi for the promotion of the romantic comedy where we asked him about his birthday plans.
“It will probably be a working birthday, I don’t know,” Ayushmann said. Nushrat interjected and said, “We will party,” to which Ayushmann said, “On 13th, we can party. 14th, I am working.”
The actor continued, “I am not a birthday person. I don’t like celebrating my birthdays. Any other day, I will probably party. But not on my birthday. I don’t know, I get depressed on my birthday.”
Ayushmann is currently going through a fantastic phase in his film career. He delivered five back-to-back box-office successes in the form of Bareilly Ki Barfi, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Badhaai Ho, AndhaDhun and Article 15. For AndhaDhun, he recently won the National Film Award for Best Actor.
Dream Girl sees Ayushmann in the role of Karam, a small-town boy who can talk in a woman’s voice. He uses this quirky talent to get himself a job at a call centre. His dual identity leads to hilarious circumstances.
Also starring Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Vijay Raaz, Abhishek Banerjee, Raj Bhansali, Rajesh Sharma and Nidhi Bisht in important roles, Dream Girl is written and directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa. It is produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Nachiket Pantvaidya under the film production banners of Balaji Motion Pictures, ALT Entertainment and Zee Studios. At the box office, it will lock horns with the Akshaye Khanna and Richa Chadha-starrer Section 375.
