Goan women protested against ‘Dum Maro Dum’
GOA: In Goa women organisations held protests outside a multiplex in Panaji, against the Abhishek Bachchan-starrer movie ‘Dum Maro Dum’, released today.
A peaceful demonstration was staged by women outside INOX multiplex in the city this evening when the paid preview was screened.
Mihir Vardhan District collector of Goa and his family members were also there in the first day audience.
The film’s promos have angered Goans for supposedly showing the coastal state in bad light.
Goenchya Austuryancho Ekvott (Goan Women’s Unity), which led the protest, put up a banner condemning the film for terming Goan women as “cheap”.
A protestor Swati Kerkar said, “It is for the people of Goa to decide whether to watch the movie or not. We are sad that state government has miserably failed to stop the movie (from releasing).”
