‘I had quite a task at hand’: Alia Bhatt on shooting ‘Heart of Stone’ amid pregnancy

Bollywood star Alia Bhatt wrapped the filming for her debut Hollywood movie ‘Heart of Stone’ last month.

The spy thriller also features ‘Wonder Woman’ star Gal Gadot and ‘Belfast’ actor Jamie Dornan. The Netflix film is directed by Tom Harper from a script penned by Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder.

Bhatt’s pictures of shooting the film amid pregnancy had gone viral with many lauding the actress for being professional.

For those unversed, Alia is expecting her first child with husband Ranbir Kapoor.

In an interview with Variety, Alia shared her filming experience stating, “It was my first Hollywood big English picture experience and I had quite a task at hand because I was shooting for the first time an action movie. But I’m also pregnant so there were so many layers for me to deal with. But they made it so seamless and so easy and so comfortable for me. It’s something that I will never forget because of how beautifully and how well I was treated.”

Bhatt started filming for the project in May. Details about her character are currently under wraps.

‘Heart of Stone’ is produced by Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger, along with Mockingbird’s Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn, and Gadot and Jaron Varsano’s Pilot Wave banner.

Harper, Rucka and Patty Whitcher serve as executive producers.

Alia will next be seen in the Netflix movie ‘Darlings’, slated for a premiere on August 5. Set in Mumbai, the dark comedy features Bhatt alongside Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew.

The film also marks Bhatt’s production debut through her banner Eternal Sunshine Productions, in collaboration with superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. ‘Darlings’ marks the directorial debut of writer Jasmeet K Reen.
