Irrfan Khan back to work, begins shooting for Hindi Medium sequel, Angrezi Medium in Udaipur

After months of speculations and presumptions around his much-awaited comeback, Irrfan Khan resumed work on Friday. As the many recent reports claimed, the actor has begun shooting for the sequel to his 2017 social drama Hindi Medium in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Contrary to claims that the film had been titled Hindi Medium 2 or English Medium, it is called Angrezi Medium.

Movie critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, on Friday morning, shared photos from the shoot location. While one of them is of the clapperboard, the other one has Irrfan posing with cinematographer Anil Mehta, co-actor Deepak Dobriyal, producer Dinesh Vijan and director Homi Adajania right in front of Ghasiteram Mishthan Bhandar, one of city’s most famous sweets shops.

Mr Adarsh’s tweet read, “Irrfan Khan resumes work… #AngreziMedium shooting begins in #Udaipur today [5 April 2019]… Directed by Homi Adajania… Produced by Dinesh Vijan… Will be shot in #Udaipur and #London… #AngreziMedium is the sequel to the smash hit #HindiMedium, but with a new story.”

Angrezi Medium, as per a report in Mumbai Mirror, will feature Radhika Madan as Irrfan’s daughter. The actress, last seen in Vasan Bala’s Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, is expected to join the shoot soon. It has also been reported that Kareena Kapoor Khan has been roped in to play the female lead. She will apparently be seen portraying a cop in the film. The actress is currently busy with the shooting of Raj Mehta’s Good News, co-starring Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani and will reportedly begin work on Angrezi Medium after wrapping up this film.
