Kalank: 6 days ahead of release, advance booking opens for Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan’s film

One of this year’s most-awaited multi-starrers, Kalank, might be days away from its official theatrical release, but here’s news for the fans, who can hardly contain their excitement now.

Slated to release on April 17, the film has been directed by Abhishek Varman and co-stars Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. The makers of the film, however, have opened the advance bookings for the multi-starrer six days ahead of its release.

In a video shared on both Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan’s Instagram accounts, the two stars revealed the big news. In a message for their fans, Alia and Varun said, “Good morning… so the advance booking of our film is open right now. You must go and book because you can get really great seats right now. Do it now, go book right now. It’s releasing on 17 April.”

To say that the film’s teaser, trailer and songs have intrigued the viewers might be an understatement. The beauty, grandeur and magnificence of it all have not just left viewers asking for more but has managed to make the viewers’ wait much difficult. The makers have so far revealed four songs from the film – Ghar More Pardesiya, First Class, Kalank title track and Tabaah Ho Gaye and all four of them, with its distinct flavour, have climbed to the top in music charts.

Set in the 1920s, the film stars Alia as Roop, while Varun plays the role of Zafar. Sonakshi essays the role of Satya Chaudhry and Aditya steps in the shoes of Dev Chaudhry, while Madhuri essays the role of the gorgeous Bahaar Begum and Sanjay Dutt plays Balraj Chaudhry. The film has been produced by Karan Johar, Sajid Nadiadwala, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta. Filmmaker-producer Karan had earlier revealed that the idea of Kalank had stayed with his father, Yash Johar, for years and it was his long-time dream to see the film into being.
