Kangana said- Bhindranwale was not a saint but a terrorist: This history was hidden from us, we are facing huge financial losses due to the postponement of the release of ‘Emergency’

Kangana Ranaut has talked about the delay in the release of the film ‘Emergency’. The film was scheduled to release on 6 September but the release was postponed due to not getting a certificate from the censor board. Also, Sikh organizations also had objections to the film, due to which the film could not be released on time.

Now Kangana has raised questions on people’s objection to the film at the News18 India Chaupal event. She said that those who are defending Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, I would like to tell them that he was not a saint but a terrorist.

Kangana said, this is our history which was deliberately hidden. We were not told about it. This is not the time for good people. My film is ready for release. I have got a certificate from the censor board. 4 historians have supervised my film. We have all the documents. There is nothing wrong in my film. But some people are calling Bhindranwale a saint, leader and revolutionary. They have threatened to get my film banned. I have also received threats.

Previous governments had called Khalistanis terrorists. He (Bhindranwale) is not a saint who sits in a temple with an AK47. Only a few people have objections to my film and they are instigating others too. I don’t think 99% of the people of Punjab would consider Bhindranwale a saint. He was a terrorist and if he was a terrorist then my film should be released.

Kangana said – there has been a huge loss

When Kangana was asked if she had to face financial loss due to the postponement of the film’s release, she said, I never thought that people would object to Bhindranwale being shown as a terrorist. I feel like I am being tortured. This is a matter of great shame for me. We have also suffered a lot of loss.
