Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey unite for Haseen Dillruba; film to release on September 18, 2020
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Bollywood actors Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey are currently on a roll. Both actors have come on board for films that are experimental and unconventional in the recent past. While Taapsee has had a string of successful films including Mulk, Badla, Game Over, Mission Mangal, Saand Ki Aankh, Vikrant climbed the popularity charts with his impressive performance in Konkona Sen Sharma’s A Death in the Gunj and his upcoming film, Chhapaak.
While the two are continuing to win hearts and earn rave reviews independently, Vikrant and Taapsee have now united for a film. Titled Haseen Dillruba, the film will be directed by Vinil Mathew. For the uninitiated, filmmaker Vinil has previously directed Hasee Toh Phasee, co-starring Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra in the lead.
Taapsee took to social media to share the first look of the film. Along with the announcement poster, Taapsee wrote, “I maybe bad but I’m perfectly good at it” Stepping into the world of #HaseenDillruba . Can’t wait for you guys to meet HER in theatres 18th September 2020!”
As for the film’s writer, Kanika Dhillon, who has most recently worked in Manmarziyaan and Judgementall Hai Kya, has penned the script of Haseen Dillruba.
While nothing about the plot has been revealed yet, the film will be produced by Aanand L Rai under his banner Colour Yellow Production in collaboration with Eros International and Himanshu Sharma. The film’s music will be composed by Amit Trivedi.
In an official statement, producer Aanand revealed that the film is a murder mystery that also sees a twisted love story in place. The film is slated for a release on September 18, next year. It will be interesting to see what this oven-fresh pair brings on the screen!
