There are two different versions of Malaika’s father’s death: Police said he committed suicide by jumping from a building, while close friends said it was an accident
Actress Malaika Arora’s father passed away on Wednesday. At 9 am, Anil Arora’s (62) body was found lying below his apartment Ayesha Manor in Bandra.
There are two different versions of the news of his death. On one hand, DCP Raj Tilak Roshan said that the initial investigation is pointing towards suicide. It is being said that he committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor.
The police and forensic team are investigating keeping every angle in mind. However, no suicide note has been found yet. At the same time, Malaika’s close friends have told news agency PTI that it is an accident.
The body has been sent for postmortem. The body has been kept in Baba Hospital. Anil Arora had worked in the Merchant Navy. He had retired. Malaika was in Pune when she got the news of her father’s death. She reached Mumbai as soon as she got the information.
Anil’s wife and Malaika’s mother Joyce said in her statement to the police that Anil used to sit in the balcony and read the newspaper every morning. On Wednesday (11 September) morning, when she saw Anil’s slippers in the living room, she went to the balcony. When she did not see Anil anywhere there, she looked down. The watchman was shouting loudly for help.
Joyce said that Anil was not suffering from any disease. He only had pain in his knees. Joyce said that she and Anil had got divorced years ago, but both were living together for some years.
Anil was in the Merchant Navy. In the year 2023, Anil was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai due to illness. Then Malaika was seen in the hospital with her mother Joyce. However, the reason for his treatment could not be revealed.
Anil belonged to a Punjabi Hindu family. He had been in the Merchant Navy. He was married to Joyce Polycorp. Anil-Joyce became parents of two daughters after marriage, whose names are Malaika and Amrita Arora. Anil-Joyce got divorced after a few years of marriage. After the divorce, the custody of the daughters was given to Joyce.
