Thiruvananthapuram: Causing embarrassment to CPI in Kerala, luxury wedding pictures of party legislator Geetha Gopi daughter went viral on social media.
Pictures of the wedding that took place recently at the Poothanam Auditorium in Guruvayour in Thrissur district went viral showed the bride ‘decked’ in gold ornaments.
Geetha Gopi is a two-time CPI legislator from Nattika in Thrissur district. The party is the second largest partner in the CPI-M headed LDF government.
The wedding comes closely after her colleague in the state and former minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran raised the issue of extravagant marriages in the state and sought Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to curb ostentatious weddings.
Meanwhile, CPI State Secretary Kannam Rajendran said the party district committee has been asked to seek an explanation on the matter from the MLA as she is the member of the party district council.
