Narayan Reviews City Sanitation Ahead of Cleanliness Survey
GIS preparations have raised hopes for improved performance this year

Bhopal
Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan toured Bhopal on Monday, checking sanitation efforts and pushing officials to step up cleanliness, waste management, and on-the-ground monitoring.
He told teams to clean up back lanes, keep roads free of stagnant water, and make the city visibly cleaner. Unhappy with the slow progress in collecting citizen feedback, he told officials to speed up processes. At Bhadbhada, he personally oversaw a fire extinguishing at a garbage heap and ensured swift removal of the waste.
Narayan inspected key areas, including Link Road 3, MANIT Square, Nehru Nagar, Kotra, Bhadbhada, Suraj Nagar, Gauregaon, Ratibad Road, and Kerwa Dam Road. Through video conferencing, he directed teams to maintain top cleanliness standards and work on improving the city’s sanitation ranking.
He focused on clearing dust from road verges, improving green spaces, and ramping up waste collection in commercial zones. He also instructed officials to fix waterlogging issues and ensure back lanes don’t turn into dumping grounds.
At Bhadbhada Gate, Narayan checked beautification projects, ordering flowering plants and the removal of encroachments like kiosks and carts. He also reviewed tree plantation efforts, stressing the need for proper soil care, fertilisation, and irrigation for healthy growth.
