Terrorist hideouts found 6 days before elections in Kashmir:

The army discovered two hideouts of terrorists in Kupwara and Kulgam districts on Thursday, September 12, 6 days before the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. A huge amount of ammunition and explosives were recovered from Kupwara. However, only one hideout was discovered in Kulgam. The terrorists had made this hideout by digging a pit at the root of a big tree in Keran sector of Kupwara. A space of 5 to 6 feet was found at the root. More than 100 AK-47 cartridges, 20 hand grenades and 10 small rockets were recovered from here.
Based on intelligence input, the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a joint operation in Keran sector of Kupwara. The Army had received this intelligence from an election observer posted in Jammu and Kashmir .
Voting for the 90 assembly seats of Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases on September 18, September 25 and October 1. The result will be declared on October 8.
