BJP condemns attack on senior doctor Lahoti

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chhattisgarh leader Vishnudeo Sai on Sunday denounced the attack on a senior doctor in the premises of a constitutional institution and demanded action against the culprits.

“(It) is an unfortunate and shameful incident,” Sai told the media here.

He accused the Private Secretary to the Chhattisgarh Women Commission Chairman of assaulting the doctor and snatching his mobile telephone. The doctor had reached the Commission office on Saturday to give his version after a complaint by a woman.

The police failure to take action against the guilty shows that there is pressure from the government, Sai said after meeting the injured doctor at a hospital.
