Bina: It has been almost 5 months since Nirmala Sapre, the only MLA who waved the flag of Congress in Sagar district, left the Congress. She has joined the BJP in the presence of CM Mohan Yadav. Nirmala Sapre, who was the MLA of Bina, had put forth the demand of making Bina a district in front of the party in return for joining the BJP, which is still unfulfilled.
Congress had given a petition to the Assembly Speaker
On July 5, the Congress had also filed a disqualification petition before the Assembly Speaker to disqualify Nirmala Sapre from membership as a Congress MLA. Despite this, she still remains a Congress MLA. MLA Nirmala Sapre had joined the BJP on May 5 after winning the election on a Congress ticket.
She has talked about resignation from the stage many times
What should have happened was that she would have resigned from Congress, but that did not happen. Now almost 150 days have passed. She has neither resigned from Congress nor has she officially joined BJP. However, she has said many times from the stage that she is going to resign.
Why is it getting late?
There is a discussion in the inside that if Nirmala Sapre resigns, she will have to face a by-election, for which she is not ready. She is afraid of public displeasure if she resigns from Congress. She is constantly visiting her constituency and putting forth her views among the public. She will consider resigning only after taking the public into confidence.
