Indigo Airlines server down: Trouble in booking and check-in, long queues of passengers at airports across the country

Indigo Airlines’ online passenger service system has gone down. People are not able to book and check-in airline tickets online. Flight operations and ground services at airports have also been affected. Due to this, long queues of passengers have been seen at airports across the country.

The airline has given information about the problem, but due to no alternative arrangements for the passengers, they are waiting for hours at the airports.

IndiGo said – there is problem due to system slowdown

The airline informed about this through a post on the social media platform X. IndiGo said, ‘Our teams are working on this matter. Normal situation will be restored soon.’

3 months ago, due to a software update by the American anti-virus company Crowdstrike, millions of computers running on Microsoft operating system came to a standstill across the world. Due to this, essential services like airports, flights, trains, hospitals, banks, restaurants, digital payments, stock exchanges, TV channels and supermarkets came to a halt across the world. The biggest impact was seen at airports.

3% of the total flights, i.e. around 4,295, had to be cancelled worldwide. In the US alone, 1,100 flights were cancelled and 1,700 were delayed. In India, heavy crowds were seen at major airports including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru.

IndiGo has a 62% share in the domestic market. IndiGo currently operates flights to 30 international destinations, serving 805 international cities. With a fleet of over 300 aircraft, the airline connects 78 cities in the country with over 2,000 flights daily.
