Kejriwal said- Delhi roads will be repaired before elections: Wrote a letter to CM for repair; Atishi sitting next to him said- we have issued tenders

Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said, Delhi’s roads will be repaired soon. I have written a letter to CM Atishi for the repair of roads. I am happy that our MLAs and leaders inspected all the roads of the city.

Atishi was also seen sitting next to Kejriwal in this press conference. Atishi said- We received Kejriwal’s letter. Immediately after this, PWD started the work of repairing the roads. Currently, tenders have been issued for 74 out of 89 roads. The process of issuing tenders for the remaining 15 roads is going on.

Atishi, the new Chief Minister of Delhi, took charge on 23 September. Atishi left an empty chair in the CM office and sat on another chair herself. Atishi had said – ‘Just like Bharat took over the throne of Ayodhya by keeping his sandals after Ram went to exile, I will take over the chair of Delhi CM in the same way. After 4 months, the people of Delhi will make Kejriwal sit on this chair again. Till then this chair will remain in this room and will wait for Kejriwal ji.’

After coming out on bail on September 13 in the Delhi liquor policy case, Kejriwal resigned from the post of CM on September 17. Atishi became the new Chief Minister of Delhi on September 21. On September 23, she took oath along with 5 ministers.

21 September: Atishi becomes the new CM of Delhi, touches Kejriwal’s feet after taking oath

Atishi took oath as the 9th Chief Minister of Delhi on 21 September. She was administered the oath by Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinay Saxena at Raj Niwas. After the oath, Atishi touched the feet of Arvind Kejriwal.

She is the youngest CM of Delhi (43 years). Earlier, Kejriwal became CM at the age of 45. Atishi is the third woman CM of Delhi after Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dixit.

Apart from Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and Mukesh Ahlawat took oath as ministers. Mukesh Ahlawat is the only new face in the cabinet.

Atishi kept 13 departments with herself including education, PWD and finance. Saurabh Bhardwaj was given the responsibility of 8 important departments including health. Atishi is a three-time MLA from Kalkaji seat.

September 17: Kejriwal submitted his resignation to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena

Kejriwal submitted his resignation from the post of CM to the Lieutenant Governor (LG) on the evening of 17 September. Atishi and 4 ministers were present with him. After this, Atishi staked claim to form a new government.

After this Atishi said that till the next elections I have only two tasks. First- to protect the people of Delhi from the conspiracy of BJP. Second- to make Kejriwal the CM again.
