Agrawal community’s contribution is unparalleled in development : CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has described Agrawal community’s contribution in development as unparalleled. Their entrepreneurship and wisdom is world-famous. Shri Chouhan was addressing a match-making convention of Agrawal community’s girls and boys organised by Agrawal Yuva Chetna Society, Bhopal here today.
Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh was lagging behind in the race of development some years ago. Stress was laid on basic investment for moving the state forward. State’s development process was accelerated as per requirement. Now, state’s growth rate is 12 percent and agriculture growth rate is percent.
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Agrawal community has given support and cooperation to him at various stages of his life. He wished that Agrawal community increase its entrepreneurship. Shri Chouhan said that best investment schemes in the country have been chalked out in the state. With the same spirit, efforts were also made to make agriculture a profitable occupation since sale in market will be good when the crop is good. Production will increase with good sale. Investment will come with increase in production and investment will increase employment opportunities. He said that foreign investment in retail trade will reduce employment. Therefore, permission for retail trade has not been given in the state. He informed that loan guarantee and interest subsidy scheme for self-employment will be launched soon.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that misbehaviour with women in the state will not be tolerated. Recommendation has been sent to the Union Government for giving death sentence to rapist. He said that provisions are being made in the state to punish culprits of crimes against women. Efforts are afoot to ensure completion of investigation in 15 days and sentence in 45 to 60 days. He informed that a database of accused of crimes against women is being prepared in the state. Such persons will be debarred from driving licence, passport and government job. Life of such a culprit will be worse than death.
Bhaskar Group’s Chairman Shri Ramesh Chandra Agrawal said that times are changing. The community will have to adapt to changes by discarding obsolete beliefs and mindsets. He said that daughter is embodiment of happiness and prosperity. Happiness comes to family only with birth of a daughter. He also suggested to hold the convention for two days in future.
The welcome address was delivered by Shri Kamalkant. He informed that this the second match-making convention organised by the society. The guests were welcomed with stoles. At the end, they were felicitated with shawls, coconuts and mementoes. At the outset, the function was inaugurated with garlanding of a portrait of Lord Agrasen. On behalf of the community, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan felicitated pediatrician and Director of Bombay Children’s Hospital Dr. Rahul Agrawal.
