BJP to protest against non-distribution of rice

The BJP will stage demonstrations before Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) offices on October 11 and 12 to protest against non-distribution of 5 kg of rice made to beneficiaries in the state, BJP state President Vishnudeo Sai said on Sunday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana (PMGKAY) extended free foodgrain till November 2021 as part of the fight against Covid.

But the Chhattisgarh government had excluded certain category of people from benefitting from the scheme, he said.

He described the Kawardha communal flare-up as unfortunate and alleged that BJP leaders were being targeted in the crackdown. The BJP demanded an impartial judicial probe into the incident.
