CS Arrest Warrant: BJP, Congress Accuse Each-other
On the issue of arrest warrant issued against chief secretary Avani Vaish, both the BJP and the Congress are trading charges against each other, said media reports.
National Commission for Schedule Caste (NCSC) issued arrest warrant for Avani on the issue of promoting officers of general category against the reserved posts. Madhya Pradesh High Court later stayed it.
“The decision of the High Court on the issue of NCSC warrant has made things crystal clear,” Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra was quoted as saying by PTI.
Nevertheless, the NCSC member Mahendra Boudh defended commission’s decision to issue arrest warrant citing that all legal procedures were duly followed before issuing the warrant, reports said.
He further said that the NCSC recommended to the Union Home Ministry to look into the matter through an independent agency, for the state government infringed the laws of reservation two times, in the year 2006 and 2008 respectively.
Narottam Mishra snubbed Congress for taking use of constitutional bodies for settling political scores, said reports.
“In politics there is always a scope for differences and opposition, but such attempts will damage the federal structure of the country,” he was quoted as saying.
