The rally begins at Raj Bhawan and culminated at Gandhi Medical College

Bhopal
Doctors from public and private hospitals will take part in a vehicle rally on Sunday to promote organ donation. The event is organised by Gandhi Medical College Alumni Association and the District Health Committee.
The rally will start from Raj Bhavan and end at Gandhi Medical College, with support from Kiran Foundation, Bhopal Organ Donation Society, and other voluntary organisations. Participants aim to spread awareness and encourage people to pledge their organs.
Governor Mangubhai Patel, MP Alok Sharma, and MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani will flag off the rally. The initiative highlights doctors’ social responsibility, with the state government actively promoting awareness and registration for organ donation.
Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav has been pushing policies to support organ donation. Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla has also worked on simplifying the registration process and honouring families of donors to encourage more participation.
On Republic Day this year, the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Bhopal recognised 31 donor families by presenting them with certificates and saplings in appreciation of their contribution.
Last year, following PM Narendra Modi’s appeal, a nationwide campaign for organ donation pledges was launched. Bhopal led Madhya Pradesh in the highest number of pledges made.
CMHO Dr Prabhakar Tiwari said organ donation awareness and transplants have increased significantly, with organs even being airlifted when needed. Inspired by this progress, doctors have voluntarily organised this rally to keep the momentum going.
