Kaushik must emulate MJ Akbar: Congress
State general secretary and chairman communication wing of the PCC Shailesh Nitin Trivedi on Wednesday said Congress had nothing to do with allegations of harassment raised by a woman against Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik.
However the Congress leader advised Kaushik to emulate former Union Minister M.J. Akbar, who had resigned over “Me Too” allegations. In a statement Trivedi said Congress doesn’t believe in politics of vengeance and had nothing to do with the allegation of a woman against Kaushik.
The woman accused the BJP leader of making indecent proposal to her during Holi festivity in 2017.
He further said as Kaushik being Leader of Opposition in the state assembly enjoys the status of a cabinet minister, he immediately should quit the post and face the probe. “We are ready to set up a probe committee if Kaushik so suggests,” he further added.
