Mayor Malti Rai Launches Awareness Camp for Women on Khadi Products and Schemes
Large number of women attended the program that coincided with International Women's Day

Marking International Women’s Day, Mayor Malti Rai inaugurated an awareness camp at Jawahar Chowk’s Khadi Gramodyog Centre, encouraging women to explore Khadi products and benefit from government schemes.
Lighting a ceremonial lamp, Rai emphasised the importance of empowering women through economic and social initiatives. She extended her best wishes to all women present and praised the handcrafted products made by rural industries.
Rai highlighted that women lack no skills and are excelling in every field. She urged them to take advantage of employment-driven schemes offered by Khadi Gramodyog to achieve financial independence.
During the event, Rai personally observed various Khadi products and even tried her hand at crafting clay items, appreciating the artisans’ craftsmanship and dedication.
The camp was attended by Sub-Divisional Officer Archana Sharma, officials from the Khadi Gramodyog department, employees, and other dignitaries, all supporting the initiative to strengthen women’s participation in traditional industries.
