Provision for compassionate appointment in power companies amended

Bhopal: Provisions of compassionate appointment policy-2013 for power companies in Madhya Pradesh have been amended. According to the amendment, cases of death due to accident prior to April 10, 2012 and after November 2000 have also been included in compassionate appointment policy.

Preference in appointment under compassionate policy will be given to cases of deaths due to accident over normal death. In case of unnatural death while working in Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board/Company, electricity accident, murder by assailants and death due to vehicle accident during work have also been included in the policy. As per the amendment, in the cases of death before April 10, 2012, maximum age limit will remain completely exempted for deceased employee’s spouse like compassionate policy 2013. But new eligible dependant will be given exemption in age limit with effect from release of policy or 8 years, whichever is more.

Similarly, in old cases of accident death a dependant will be eligible to get appointment on compassionate ground till 3 years from April 1, 2014, the date of release of amended order in old cases of death due to accident only on availability of vacancy. It has also been said in this regard that applications for old cases will be accepted till next one year from November 1, 2014, the date of release of amended order. After that period, applications will be accepted till 6 months after death due to accident. Directives and guidelines have also been given regarding norms of minimum academic qualification of dependence in accordance with post in all cases of compassionate appointment.

In the directives issued to all Managing Directors of power companies, they have been directed to ensure compliance. Information about the order has been forwarded to Managing Directors of power companies for necessary action.
