Congress to hold mega show in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh on July 10
Bhopal: With assembly elections scheduled for next year in Madhya Pradesh, opposition party Congress is planning to raise the atrocities faced by the the Dalit community in a mega show on July 10, at Mhow in Madhya Pradesh.
According to reports, senior Congress leader and grandson of Dr BR Ambedkar, Prakash Ambedkar will also be joining the day-long mega event.
Dr BR Ambedkar was born in Mhow, and his grandson’s presence might just legitimise Congress party as far as the legacy of Dr Ambedkar is concerned. There is a tug of war between Congress and BJP over who the real custodian of the legacy of Dr Ambedkar is.
Apart from Prakash Ambedkar, social organisations and civil society members from across the country will also join the campaign to raise Dalit rights issue across the country.
The day-long event includes a prayer meet at Ambedkar Memorial, followed by a Kisan Sammelan and a seminar at Ambedkar University.
Madhya Pradesh will go to polls next year, and the Congress plans to raise the farmers as well as Dalits plight issues during the election.
Apart from this, party is holding a Kisan Swabhiman Yatra in the state and the culmination of the yatra will happen in Lahar city of Bhind district.
