Undertake extensive roof water harvesting: Minister Shri Jaivardhan Singh

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Jaivardhan Singh said in the workshop held at the launch of Jal Shakti Abhiyan in Indore that every drop of water must be saved for a secure future. There is need to increase ground water level. Work on Roof Water Harvesting should be undertaken extensively.

Minister Shri Singh said that the goal of the state government is supplying water not only in cities but in Every House. He said that Akshay Jal and Jal Shakti Abhiyan will be turned into public movements. Apart from reviving water structures, sewerage water treatment will also be conducted to purify water to make it useful. Shri Singh said that the public representatives, voluntary organizations and social and religious organizations should also be connected to the campaign. He lauded the works undertaken for water conservation by Indore City Qazi and former IAS officer Late Shri M.N. Buch. Shri Singh also appreciated the support extended by the people of Indroe in such campaigns.

Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Shri Sanjay Dubey quoated the saying ‘Dag Dag Roti-Pag Pag Neer’ said that it will be reality again in Malwa region. He told to consider working in the campaign as one’s social and personal responsibility. Shri Dubey said that the urban bodies must make innovations in water conservation campaign. Commissioner Urban Administration Shri P. Narhari said that we will make efforts to undertake maximum roof water harvesting works in this monsoon. He said that new buildings should be given completion certificates only when they have roof water harvesting and fire safety systems. Shahar Qazi Dr. Ishrat Ali said that a work plan is being prepared to check wastage of water during the process of ablutionin mosques. Representatives of various organizations also addressed the workshop. Public representatives were also present on the occasion.
