Yadav Confident of BJP win in Budhni, Vijaypur

Campaigning for the two bypolls in the state are in their last leg now

Bhopal

Trashing speculations of a tough contest in Vijaypur and Budhni bypolls in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will register huge victories in both the assembly segments.

“The atmosphere is in favour of the BJP in these by-elections. We will win with a huge majority in Vijaypur and Budhni, and there are immense possibilities for development in Vijaypur. We are committed to setting new records in terms of development,” Yadav was quoted as saying by ANI.

The bypolls in both constituencies are scheduled for November 13, with results to be declared on November 23.

Yadav’s statement is significant as it comes amid a concerted Congress campaign to corner the ruling party.

Congress state unit chief Jitu Patwari and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh have taunted the BJP over an alleged shortage of fertilisers and rising crime. Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly, Umang Singhar, has repeatedly moved the Election Commission, accusing the BJP of employing unfair means to influence voters in the two areas.
