183 runs in 60 balls Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell power Northern Warriors to record total
The second season of the T10 Cricket League has already seen some thrilling contest between the teams with several players putting on match-winning performances for their respective sides. In the 8th game of the 2018 season of the T10 League, the Nothern Warriors demolished Punjabi Legends’ bowling attack as they plundered 183 runs in just 10 overs to record the highest ever total in the history of the tournament.
The Northern Legends has some of the best West Indies batsmen in their ranks in the likes of Lendl Simmons and Nicholas Pooran, Darren Sammy and Andre Russell. The Caribbean stars combined in a spectacular manner to prove once again why they are the best in the shorter formats of the game. The Warriors’ top order fired all cylinders as they slaughtered Legends’ bowling attack.
Pooran led the show with his blistering 77 off 25 deliveries laced with ten sixes and two boundaries. He was well supported by Simmons who scored 36 off 21 balls to post a brilliant 107-run stand for the first wicket. Russell then took the attack on the bowlers as he smacked a 9-ball 38 with the help of six sixes. Powell also joined the party with 21 off 5 balls laced with two sixes and two boundaries.

A total of 20 sixes and ten fours were hit during the innings as the Warriors posted a monumental total. In reply, Punjabi Legends could only manage a paltry 84/7 as the Warriors won the game comfortably by a staggering margin of 99 runs. Openers Luke Ronchi (14) and Evin Lewis (10) failed to get the team off to a strong start and were dismissed cheaply.
The Legends’ middle order also collapsed against a disciplined bowling display from the Warriors with Ravi Bopara picking up 4/15 in his four overs.
