Realme X with in-display fingerprint scanner, pop-up selfie camera in official renders spotted ahead of launch
Realme is looking to bring in a full-screen smartphone and will be launching it as the Realme X on May 15. There have been a number of leaks and renders of the Realme X with the design and the retail box already leaked. Now Realme has gone ahead and provided official renders of the device on their Weibo account. The phone will arrive in two colours – blue/purple colour and a white with a purple hue which gives off a Prism White like appearance found on Samsung flagship devices.
The Realme X launch date has been confirmed by the company and while the smartphone will be unveiled in China on May 15 along with the Realme X Youth Edition, the company has also confirmed some key details about the smartphone ahead of its launch. The Realme X showed off by Realme CMO Xu Qi Chase recently after which the company confirmed that the smartphone will come with a huge 91.2 per cent screen-to-body ratio.
While it also confirmed that the Realme X will sport a pop-up selfie camera, a new post on Weibo from Realme’s official handle has revealed that the smartphone will also come with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor as part of the dual rear camera module. Previous reports have highlighted that while the Realme X might get a 32-megapixel front camera sensor, there will be a 48-megapixel primary sensor + 5-megapixel depth sensor at the rear panel.
The Realme X is expected to sport 6.5-inch FHD+ display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and while the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 730 SoC, there will also be an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Realme X will reportedly come in 6GB RAM with 64GB storage, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 128GB storage versions.
For optics, the Realme X is expected to come with a dual rear camera setup including a 48-megapixel primary rear camera and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. At the front, the Realme X might sport a notch-less display with a pop-up selfie camera module. While the company is also expected to launch a Snapdragon 855 version of the smartphone later this year, the Realme X prices might start at CNY 1,599 (roughly Rs. 16,500).
