Redmi Note 7 could be Xiaomi’s next best-seller in India under Rs. 15,000: Here’s why
Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7 on Thursday after weeks of constant speculations and leaks. The Chinese smartphone maker launched the Redmi Note 7 for CNY 999 in the Chinese market which translates to roughly Rs. 10,500. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is the all-new model from the independent Redmi sub-brand and sports a 48-megapixel sensor camera on the rear. As we stated, there were a lot of speculations and leaks and rumours that this 48-megapixel smartphone offering would be for the mid-range market. But Xiaomi superseded all expectations by launching the phone at a sub-CNY 1000 range which places it squarely in the budget smartphone range.
The Redmi Note 7 launched by Xiaomi has been priced at CNY 999 for the base variant. The base variant gets 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The greater spec Redmi Note 7 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native memory has been priced at CNY 1199 which is roughly Rs. 12,400.
Redmi by Xiaomi also launched a top-spec variant of the Redmi Note 7 which gets 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage and has been priced at CNY 1399 which is roughly Rs. 14,500.
Xiaomi usually launches most of its models in the Chinese market before eventually bringing them in the Indian market soon after. If Xiaomi brings the Redmi Note 7 in the Indian market, they could very well price the smartphone in the sub-Rs. 15,000 range. Xiaomi could even price it lower but we are not guessing.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 sports a 6.3-inch full HD+ display alongside waterdrop notch design and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 runs on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC welded to Adreno 512 GPU and runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
The Xiaomi Redmi is sold in three variants – 3GB/32GB variant, 4GB/64GB variant and a third 6GB variant which gets native storage of 64GB alongside expandable memory via microSD.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 has been priced at CNY 999 which is much lesser than the CNY 1,500 price of the Redmi Note 6 Pro – Xiaomi’s latest budget smartphone for the Indian market.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 sports a dual-camera setup like the Redmi Note 6 Pro but gets a 48-megapixel shooter on the primary and a 5-megapixel shooter for the secondary. The 48-megapixel lens gets an f/1.8 aperture size. A front shooter is a 13-megapixel unit. The camera gets AI assist as well.
