Vivo Nex 3 to get a notch-less display; to boast ‘over 100%’ screen-to-body ratio: Report
Vivo Nex, the flagship smartphone launched last year with a staggering 91.2 per cent screen-to-body ratio is ready to get a new sibling which is claimed to get ‘over 100 per cent’ screen-to-body ratio.
According to a Prolific tipster Ice Universe, the device will be called Vivo Nex 3 and will get a notch-less and hole-less complete screen. There will be almost 90 degrees curved glass which will surround the back, the front and sides of the device.
Though the leak appears unrealistic, if the Chinese phone maker really unveils such device then Vivo Nex 3 will bear a single sheet of glass with a massive curved display that will offer an immersive viewing experience that no device till date has ever offered.
“It is almost 90 degrees curved, the mirror of glass and glass forms the outline of the phone, it is very symmetrical and perfect. It has no Hole, no Notch is a complete screen, and the forehead and chin are also of top level.” said the tipster in the tweet.
In a separate tweet, the tipster further claimed that “the Vivo NEX 3 is probably the highest screen-to-body ratio phone in 2019. The Screen-to-body Ratio is over 100 per cent based on the display area/projected area calculation method.”
All these claims not only hints at unbelievable ‘over 100 per cent screen to body ratio’ but also suggests of hole-less design, however, it still leaves a lot of questions unanswered about the display and design of the device.
If the Vivo Nex 3 does come with such notch-less hole-less display, then the phone will completely exclude earpiece, speaker and micro USB/Type C-charging port. It could come equipped with wireless charging technology and display sound technology. For optics, the company could get a pop-up selfie camera or an under-display camera system. The Vivo Nex 3 appears to be an intriguing device but it is too early to speculate what exactly the phone could get.
