Police in Indore have booked a student for allegedly raping a woman after promising to marry her. The case was registered at Khajrana police station after the woman, who works at a private company, filed a complaint.
According to police, the woman became friends with the accused around three years ago. The two later entered into a relationship.
In her complaint, the woman alleged that on May 12, 2024, the accused took her to a friend’s house in Nyay Nagar area of Khajrana. She alleged that he raped her there after promising marriage.
She further alleged that the accused continued to have physical relations with her several times afterward.
The woman told police that whenever she spoke about marriage, the accused assured her that he would marry her after completing graduation and getting a job.
She also alleged that during a meeting on April 27, 2026, the accused again had physical relations with her.
According to the complaint, when she again raised the issue of marriage, the accused threatened her and asked her not to bring up the matter repeatedly.
The woman alleged that the accused later refused to marry her and blocked her phone number. She then informed her family and approached the police.
Police have registered an FIR and started searching for the accused.
