Police reject firing claims outside Kapil Sharma’s Amritsar home

Police in Amritsar have dismissed rumours of firing outside the residence of Kapil Sharma, saying no such incident took place.

The Commissionerate Police issued a clarification on Monday after social media posts claimed shots had been fired outside the comedian’s home. Officials said the reports were false and urged the public not to circulate unverified information.

Police said the rumours gained traction online in the context of earlier attacks on Sharma’s Canada-based Kap’s Café in Surrey, British Columbia, which was targeted multiple times in 2025.

In July 2025, attackers allegedly fired nine rounds at the café, with Harjeet Singh Laddi later claiming responsibility. In August, bullet marks and shattered glass were reported, with social media posts linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and Goldy Dhillon claiming responsibility. A further shooting was reported in October 2025.

Police urged the public not to spread rumours and to rely only on official statements. Verification confirmed no firing incident had occurred in Amritsar.
