GWALIOR: A man staged an unusual protest in Gwalior on Tuesday to highlight the poor condition of the city’s roads. He wrapped his body with posters showing pothole-filled roads and walked through busy areas of the city.
Videos of the protest were widely shared on social media.
The man said he had raised the issue with civic authorities several times but claimed that many damaged roads had not been repaired. He said the protest was organised to draw attention to the problems faced by residents and to urge officials to improve road conditions.
According to the protester, pothole-filled roads have become a major problem, especially after recent rainfall. He said damaged roads make daily travel difficult and increase the risk of road accidents.
Many people who saw the protest stopped to record videos and shared them online. Some local residents also expressed concern over the condition of the roads. They said waterlogged potholes and broken road surfaces have made commuting difficult in several parts of the city and called for repair work at the earliest.
The claims made by the protester are his own. There was no immediate response from the civic authorities or other officials on the allegations at the time of publication.
