New Delhi: Veteran actor Nana Patekar died at the age of 75 on Thursday, Oct. 8, according to media reports. He was reportedly found unresponsive at his residence in Goa after complaining of severe chest pain.
According to information cited by media reports, a medical team attended to Patekar before he was taken to Manipal Hospital, where doctors declared him dead at 5:20 am.
His mortal remains were taken to Goa Medical College before being transported to Manohar International Airport. The body was then being flown to Pune, where funeral preparations were underway, according to media reports.
Patekar, a three-time National Film Award winner, had a career spanning several decades. He was known for films including Parinda, Krantiveer, Ab Tak Chhappan, Apaharan, Taxi No. 9211 and Welcome.
Several actors, filmmakers and public figures paid tribute to the veteran actor on social media following news of his death.
