BHOPAL: The District Congress Committee Bhopal City on Monday staged a protest at Roshanpura Square against rising petrol and diesel prices and increasing inflation, alleging that the Centre’s policies were placing an economic burden on the public.
Congress leaders and workers raised slogans against the Union government and demanded immediate relief for consumers affected by the continued rise in fuel prices.
Among those present were former minister P. C. Sharma, former mayor Vibha Patel.
Addressing the gathering, Congress leaders said rising inflation had made life difficult for common citizens, farmers, labourers and the middle class. They alleged that the Centre had failed to provide relief to the public amid increasing prices of essential commodities and fuel.
A large number of Congress office-bearers and party workers also participated in the demonstration.
