Patwari alleges irregularities in exams, recruitment system

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Jitu Patwari on Thursday alleged large-scale irregularities in national and state-level examinations, accusing the BJP-led Centre and state government of failing to check “education mafias” and corruption in recruitment systems.

He said repeated paper leaks, recruitment scams and result discrepancies since 2018 had eroded trust in competitive examinations and harmed the prospects of millions of students.

Patwari cited alleged irregularities in NEET examinations conducted by the National Testing Agency and recruitment tests administered by the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board. He also referred to the Madhya Pradesh nursing college scam.

He alleged that the National Testing Agency had become a symbol of “mismanagement and manipulation” and raised concerns over alleged discrepancies in examination processes, including the awarding of the Optical Scanning and Marking (OSM) system contract to COEMPT, a company he claimed had earlier faced controversy under the name Globarena in Telangana.

Referring to the nursing college scam, he claimed that institutions without adequate infrastructure had been granted recognition through fraudulent means. Patwari also cited irregularities in the MPESB Group-2 recruitment examination and demanded a Supreme Court-monitored investigation into all major examination and recruitment scams.
