Tikamgarh: Three minor boys drowned in a pond in Asthon village under Tikamgarh Kotwali police station limits on Thursday afternoon while they were bathing.
According to preliminary information, the children had gone to Siddh Sagar pond when they entered a deep section of the water and drowned. The pond is reportedly more than 12 feet deep in some areas.
Local residents rushed to the spot after noticing the incident and pulled the children out of the water, but they could not be saved.
Police and administrative officials reached the spot after being informed and began an investigation. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination after completing necessary formalities.
The incident has left the village in mourning. Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the drowning.
