District Congress Committee leads a foot march demanding Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation and withdrawal of cases against students.
The District Congress Committee, Bhopal City, led a large foot march from the state Congress office to the BJP office on Wednesday. The march was held to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, strict action against those responsible for the NEET paper leak, and the immediate withdrawal of all cases filed against students.
Congress workers also demanded a discussion on student issues in the Lok Sabha.
During the march, Congress leaders protested strongly against the central government. They said repeated exam scams have put the future of lakhs of students and young people across the country at risk.
The party demanded a fair probe into all exam scams, including the NEET paper leak, and strict action against the guilty. It also called for the immediate withdrawal of all cases registered against students. Congress said Pradhan should take moral responsibility and resign from his post.
Bhopal City Congress president Praveen Saxena, Madhya assembly MLA Arif Masood, state Congress general secretary Sanjeev Saxena, former Lok Sabha candidate Arun Shrivastava, NSUI national in-charge Anshul Trivedi, and NSUI state president Ashutosh Chowksey were among those present. District Congress organisation general secretary Abhishek Sharma, state secretary Guddu Chouhan and Rajkumar Singh also joined the march.
Senior Congress leaders, Youth Congress and NSUI workers, district office-bearers, block Congress presidents, and hundreds of young party workers took part in large numbers.
The District Congress Committee, Bhopal City, said no compromise will be made with the future of students and young people. The party said it will continue to fight firmly for the rights and justice of students.
