BHOPAL: The Nirbhaya Foundation organised an anti-drug awareness programme at Bhopal Girls School in Lalghati under the Madhya Pradesh Police’s “Nashe Se Doori 2.0” campaign, reaching 512 students.
Sub-Inspector Ashish Shrivas of the Mahila Thana, Bhopal, addressed the students, highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse and its legal and social consequences. He urged them to make healthy and responsible life choices, stay away from drugs and raise awareness among their families and friends.
Speaking on behalf of the Nirbhaya Foundation, Mubsira Masood said substance abuse can seriously affect physical and mental health while increasing the risk of exploitation, abuse and other social challenges, particularly for young girls. She encouraged students to develop self-confidence, resist peer pressure, make informed decisions and seek help from parents, teachers or the police whenever necessary.
The programme was held in the presence of Principal Zia Mangalani and members of the school staff. Organisers said all 512 participating students took part in the awareness session and pledged to remain drug-free while promoting a healthy, safe and responsible society.
The event concluded with a collective pledge supporting the vision of a Drug-Free Madhya Pradesh and a Drug-Free India.
