AI-assisted filmmaking took centre stage as Panasonic Lumix India organised a one-day advanced cinematography workshop at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Polytechnic College in Bhopal, giving students enrolled in the Applied Videography programme hands-on industry exposure.
Around 50 students attended the workshop, where they explored modern filmmaking techniques, advanced camera systems and the growing role of AI in content creation through practical demonstrations and interactive sessions.
AI Brings New Skills to Future Filmmakers
Participants received hands-on training in cinematography, visual storytelling and contemporary production workflows. The sessions introduced students to AI-enabled creative tools that are increasingly becoming part of film production and digital content creation, helping them understand how technology is reshaping the industry.
Filmmaker Aditya Kumar Chourasia, who led the workshop, said advances in open-source software and AI tools have made professional filmmaking more accessible. He said creators can now produce cinematic-quality content without expensive equipment, as modern smartphones and mirrorless cameras are capable of delivering high-quality visuals when combined with the right technical skills and creative vision.
AI Encourages Practical Learning
Head of the Department Avdesh Singh said the workshop offered students valuable practical experience that would otherwise take much longer to gain through classroom learning alone. He appreciated Panasonic Lumix India’s initiative and said the interactive format kept students actively engaged throughout the programme.
The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where participants discussed cinematography, emerging filmmaking technologies and the expanding role of AI in the creative industry with experts.
