BHOPAL: A two-day workshop on the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in smart manufacturing began at MANIT Bhopal on Tuesday, drawing participation from students and faculty members from across the country.
Organised by the Centre of Excellence in Product Design and Smart Manufacturing, the programme focuses on the use of AI and other digital technologies to improve manufacturing processes and promote sustainable industrial growth.
Speakers at the inaugural session highlighted the increasing importance of smart manufacturing and urged students to adopt an interdisciplinary approach to product development. They also stressed the need to learn emerging technologies such as AI, the Internet of Things (IoT) and digital twins to meet future industry requirements.
About 160 undergraduate students from various technical institutions attended the inaugural ceremony. The workshop will continue until June 10.
