Bhopal: The Indian Army will showcase its courage, strength and capabilities in Bhopal on January 15, 2027, as the city prepares to host Army Day celebrations for the first time.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav launched the preparations for the event on Sunday, November 1, at Shaurya Smarak by planting an Arjun sapling under the ‘Sankalp Vriksh’ campaign.

The celebrations will run from November 1 to January 15. CM said the event would give people an opportunity to witness the Army’s valour and pay tribute to the armed forces.
As part of the campaign, soil collected from all 55 districts of Madhya Pradesh will be used for plantation, symbolising unity and diversity.
The chief minister also paid tribute to soldiers at Shaurya Smarak and reviewed an exhibition showcasing activities planned for Army Day. These include an Army Day parade, Ran Hunkar, a combat demonstration and a military exhibition.
The CM said the celebrations would also mark the beginning of 2027 as the state’s ‘Year of Youth’. He added that the event would inspire young people and encourage a spirit of patriotism and national service.
Army officers, NCC cadets, public representatives and senior state government officials attended the programme.
