NEW DELHI : Director Buchi Babu Sana’s sports drama Peddi, starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, is set to release worldwide on June 4, 2026, after being postponed twice, the filmmakers announced on Friday.
The team confirmed the new date via social media, stating that production has wrapped and post-production is underway. The film was earlier scheduled for March 27, then shifted to April 30 before facing another delay.
The announcement comes amid speculation about incomplete shooting and casting for a special song. However, the makers said filming is complete, including a special number composed by A. R. Rahman.
Peddi marks Sana’s second film after the 2021 hit Uppena. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, the project is backed by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings.
Promotional material shows Charan in an intense, rugged look, hinting at a physically demanding role. Earlier visuals suggested a cricket backdrop, while later posters depicted wrestling elements.
The film also features Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu and Boman Irani in key roles.
